Large scale plans to expand Gulliver’s World Theme Park into public park space have been scrapped — starting a war of words between councillors.
The masterplan for the redevelopment of the park, which could see the business take over part of Sankey Valley Park will now have to be reassessed.
The new Labour administration say the plans, produced and agreed by the former Liberal Democrat-Conservative coalition, will no longer stand.
And in announcing the move council leader Clr Terry O’Neill took a swipe at Lib Dem councillors who had taken on residents’ complaints.
